I've got a new setting this week, based on an old MUD quest of mine, or at least the very start of it. I'm still learning how to code NPCs and the current Inform 7 documentation is limited (seems to have lost a whole chapter on the subject!) so I've gone for the one thing I can just about do: conversation. Talk to the key NPC using "say" or "ask benjamin about". It is possible to say things out of order and finish the game early, but if following clues you should end up in the right position at the end of the conversation. Or restart talking and try again! Need to code something to stop that too ... The game can be finished in under 15 moves, e.g.: n n n e n say hello examine benjamin ask benjamin about inn ask benjamin about life ask benjamin about sea ask benjamin about treasure say yes say in Need to add more depth to the game world though, including more scenery. At the moment it is a little bit bare. And some descriptions are _very_ long!
